About the Artwork
Still Life with Letters (After Petrov-Vodkin) is a highly refined, hand-painted master copy executed by contemporary artist Joseph Kapelyan. This 40×40 cm oil on canvas painting pays homage to Kuzma Petrov-Vodkin’s iconic Soviet-era modernist style. The piece beautifully showcases the Russian master’s revolutionary "spherical perspective" and strict, symbolic color palette of primary tones. Recreating the geometric layout of the letters and the distinctive planetary tilt of the surface, Kapelyan captures the quiet intellectualism and spatial tension of the original composition, making it a sophisticated addition for collectors of historic avant-garde reproductions.
